SELECT Shingle Roofer Application

To become a SELECT Shingle Roofer, a contractor must meet the following three standards:

  1. 50% of your installers, plus all job supervisors, must have current credentials as CertainTeed Master Shingle Applicators™.
  2. At least one employee must be a CertainTeed Quality Master™.
  3. Both workers’ compensation insurance (as required by law) and liability insurance covering roofing must be currently in force, and proof of this insurance must be provided to CertainTeed routinely as policies are renewed.
  4. Company must have been in business for at least five years, OR have been a Shingle Master Company for at least one year.

Admittance to the SSR program is contingent upon your company meeting all program requirements and approval by Certainteed Corporation and its local Territory Manager.

Insurance Information
Please have your insurance carrier(s) send proof of workers' compensation and liability insurance to CertainTeed SELECT, PO Box 20126, Lehigh Valley, PA 18002-0126 or FAX to 610-861-3870. As policies are amended or renewed, ask your carrier(s) to automatically send updated proof or simply ask them to list CertainTeed SELECT as a "Certificate Holder".
If you use subcontractors, does your insurance cover them?
If no, then your subcontractor must submit proof of insurance to CertainTeed.

MASTER SHINGLE APPLICATOR PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
  • 50% of your shingle installers, plus all job supervisors, must be current Master Shingle Applicators
  • An MSA-qualified crew (50% of installers and all supervisors) must be used on all SureStart Plus 5-STAR Coverage jobs
  • If you use your own work force, you must fill in the "Direct Employees" section below. If you use subcontractors, they must also meet the MSA program requirements, and you must fill in the "Subcontractor Information" section below
